Soc Trang province is located on National Highway 1A, about 231 km from Ho Chi Minh City and 62 km from Can Tho, so it is easy to reach Soc Trang by coach or by motorbike.
Ma Toc Pagoda ( (Bat) Pagoda):
Built in 1569 with the area of 04 ha, the pagoda is famous not only for the spacious and airy space but also the place for thousands of bats living under the ancient tree roots. The pagoda was recognized as a national art relic on 12/02/1999.
Kh’Leang Pagoda:
Built in 1532, this is an ancient pagoda which is closely linked to the legend about the name of Soc Trang. The decoration and carving art of the pagoda is very skillful and fine to show the typical features of Khmer culture in the South. The pagodawas recognized as a national art relic in 1999.
Buu Son Pagoda (Dat Set Pagoda):
This is a famous pagoda with nearly 2000 statues, objects made of clay and candies which can be lighted for more than 70 years which were invented and created by Ngo Kim Tong for nearly 42 years (1928 – 1970). The pagoda was recognized Guinness Vietnam Records as “The biggest clay Da Bao Tower and Bao Toa Lien”
Sro Lon Pagoda (Chen Kieu Pagoda):
This is 01 of 18 tourism destination of the province. The pagoda is located in Dai Tam commune, My Xuyen district with the unique architectural style because the ceiling and walls of the pagoda were tiled with ancient bowls and plates. The pagoda still keeps some valuable assets of Mandarin’s son Bac Lieu’s family.
Quan Am Linh Ung Pagoda (2 Buddhist Temples):
Is about 4 km away from Soc Trang City, located at 51, Kinh Thi Doi, hamlet 1, ward 5, Soc Trang city on the campus of about 08 hectares, visitors will feel the peaceful anf pure space, the harmony between the religion and life with the subtle scenery such as Bat Nha boat, the Buddha Shakyamuni, the Quan Yin, the symbol of historical charactees and folk tales, old rustic verses etc. which all create the simplicity and Buddhist teachings for the living beings. In particular, Buddhist Temples 2 is also a charitable center where care orphans and is a free healthcare facility for the poor people.
La Han pagoda (Vinh Thien Tu pagoda):
The pagoda was built with 02 storeys following the architectural style of Hoa people with the total area of nearly 5000 m2, beautiful space and landscape such as Lotus pond, Pho Da Mountain, Bat Buu Temple, couple of Unicorns etc. The pagoda is located at 63/8 Kinh Xang, hamlet 4, ward 8, Soc Trang city.
Botum Vong Sa Som Rong Pagoda (Som Rong Pagoda):
Is located at 367, Ton Duc Thang, Ward 5, Soc Trang city and was built around the 16th century. The hallmark of the temple is Sala which is designed in the style of a temple tower, with 5 towers decorated following Khmer style using such symbols such as dragons, Poon co, unicorn, Fairy kainor, snake god Nagar… Along with Sala, the tower is also considered a unique symbol of the temple.
